Applications
Duct electric heater are designed for supply air heating in round duct ventilating system. The heaters are applied in heating, ventilation and air conditioning systems for various premises.
Design
The casing and the terminal box are made of galvanized steel and the heating elements are made of stainless steel. The rubber seals in the casing provide airtight con-nection to the air ducts. Each standard size is available with various heating ca-pacity modifications. Installation of the heaters in series increases the heating capacity. All the three phase heat-ers have star connection
Mounting
The heating coil is installed by connecting it to round ventilation ducts and securing it with hose clamps. Installation must be carried out in accordance with the airflow direction (indicated by an arrow on the heating coil). The heating coils can be installed in any position except with the electrical label facing downwards, as this creates a risk of condensation ingress and short circuits.
When installing the heating coil, ensure that the airflow is evenly distributed.
An air filter must be installed upstream of the heating coil to protect the heating elements from contamination.
The recommended distance between the heating coil and other system components should be at least two connection diameters.
The tubular heating coils are designed for a minimum airflow velocity of 1.5 m/s and a maximum operating air temperature of +40 °C for NK and NK...U/Un with a heating capacity of 0.6 to 2.4 kW, and a maximum temperature of +30 °C for NK...U with a heating capacity of 3.0 to 9.0 kW. When using the fan speed controller, the minimum airflow through the heating coil must be ensured.
The power supply to the heating coil must not be switched on when the fan is at a standstill!
The compatible control unit for the heating coils ensures proper and safe operation and features the following control and protection functions:
- Automatic heating capacity and temperature control.
- Monitoring of filter contamination via the differential pressure switch.
- Interruption of the power supply to the heating coil when the supply air fan stops, when the airflow velocity drops, or when the built-in overheating protection thermostats are triggered.
- Switching off the air system after the air supply and cooling of the electric heating elements.
